A number of funding sources provide postdoctoral fellowships. However, identifying fellowship prospects often focuses on only the largest postdoctoral programs such as those offered by the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. Further complicating identification of postdoctoral funding sources is the fact that eligibility criteria for fellows can be very restrictive in terms of citizenship, years of research experience, age of the applicant, etc.
This publication provides current information about postdoctoral opportunities available to those who are or will shortly be beyond the doctorate. Research interests of the sponsors (if not apparent from the sponsor name) and restrictions (e.g., citizenship, experience) are included.

The content of this web site is for informational purposes only, and is always subject to change. The alphabetical list of postdoctoral opportunities is NOT comprehensive. The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations, Alumni and Development Programs, serves as liaison for philanthropic support between the University and corporations and foundations. The office advises PI's on the appropriateness of non-federal funding sources and provides proposal submission assistance. Before contacting a private foundation or corporation, University clearance may be required. For further information, contact Marty Igel for foundations and Phil Campbell for corporations. For inquiries from the School of Medicine contact Patricia Gregory.
